The hotel had free WiFi, which was a great advantage for us as we wanted to stay connected with our loved ones during the Christmas holidays. the staff at the hotel were very friendly and accommodating, always willing to assist us with any requests we had. the hotel was located conveniently close to the ferry terminal, making it easily accessible for those arriving or leaving by ferry.

The rooms were very basic and the beds were not comfortable at all. The air conditioning in the rooms struggled to combat the intense heat, as the windows had gaps that allowed hot air to enter.

The value for the money at Rumaisa was excellent. The rooms were basic but tidy and the hot shower was great. The location was convenient, within walking distance of all the sights in Stone Town. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, going above and beyond to accommodate our needs.

The breakfast selection could use a bit more variety.

From the moment we stepped into our room, we were blown away by the amazing amenities. The fridge was a lifesaver, keeping our drinks refreshingly cold, while the aircon provided a cool oasis from the island heat. The beds were super cozy, ensuring a blissful night's sleep. The nice shower was a real treat, with GREAT water pressure and plenty of hot water. And oh my, the breakfasts! We were treated to two different options, both of which were absolutely delicious, all while enjoying a breathtaking view of the sea. We felt incredibly happy and safe during our stay, especially traveling with our little one. The local touch of the hotel made it even more special, with friendly staff who gave us fantastic recommendations for local sights and eats. The rooms were beautifully traditional, adding an exotic touch to our experience. Plus, the hotel's proximity to the bustling Darajani market meant we could shop and indulge in cheap and mouthwatering local delicacies. we cannot recommend this gem enough.

As trekkers and a group of friends, we loved the friendly staff, convenient location, and access to the island's only cinema. The hotel provided great value for money with private bathrooms and proximity to the slave market and food market, making it a perfect choice for budget travelers.

Felt incredibly welcome, with staff going above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable.

The hotel is conveniently located just a short walk away from the city center and main harbor. Guests can easily explore the nearby attractions and have easy access to transportation. The rooms are well-designed with plenty of natural light and comfortable bedding. The breakfast selection is diverse, with fresh fruits and a variety of options to choose from. The staff is helpful and friendly, ensuring a pleasant stay.

Some guests have mentioned that the hotel lacks basic amenities like mosquito nets and hot water in the bathrooms.

Incredible breakfast selection, stunning rooftop terrace view, super friendly staff, well-equipped rooms with fantastic showers and spacious mosquito nets. Okay wifi connection, nice and clean budget room, helpful staff, and okay water pressure in the showers. Incredibly helpful staff, friendly manager, lovely rooftop breakfast with good views, and amazing water pressure in the showers. Exceptional staff going above and beyond to make guests feel welcome, accommodating room changes, cool cinema in the basement, and great value for money. Walk to main part of town felt safe.

The staff were super friendly and made our stay enjoyable. The rooms were nicely decorated and the beds were comfy with proper mosquito nets. The terrace was a cool spot to relax. The hotel's location was perfect, just a short walk from the ferry and close to the main market. Plus, the value for money was great!

The WiFi was a little slow, but that didn't bother us too much. , we didn't discover the switch for heating the water until the end of our stay, so we had mostly cool showers.

I absolutely loved the decoration at the hotel, it had such a beautiful and typical Zanzibar ambience. The colors, patterns, and furniture all reflected the local culture and made me feel immersed in the destination. As a senior woman, I found the general areas of the hotel very accessible. The staff was always there to assist me and made sure I felt comfortable navigating the hotel's facilities.

The only thing I would ask for a better vacation for senior people is if the hotel could provide handrails or additional support in the bathrooms. This would ensure more safety and stability for older guests like myself.

During our six-week stay in Stone Town, we chose Rumaisa as our base "home" and we couldn't be happier with our decision. The staff at Rumaisa, including Janet at the desk, Lilian and Amy at breakfast, Basheera the friendly accountant, Mohammed the owner, and his energetic son Yahir. They truly exceeded all expectations. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the bed was cozy, and we had hot running water in the bathroom. The buffet breakfast was generous, especially the Spanish omelet when the hotel was full. The hotel staff made us feel welcome and it was sad to leave. We will definitely return when in Stone Town.

    Can't think of anything 🤷‍♀️
